Displaying your artwork

This week we thought we would take a closer look at the way you can showcase your artwork, and talk about some of the features available and a look ahead at other ideas in the pipeline.

At launch, there will be six options to choose from to display your artwork:

Single image

One image, perfectly displayed.

Multiple images, equally perfectly displayed.

Multiple passes, renders, or stages, displayed as one image with a sliding bar that hides and reveals the phases.

Support for your videos: be it FX, a making of, turnaround, or a tutorial on something specific. You will be able to embed from YouTube and Vimeo.

3D model viewer

Support added to embed Sketchfab 3D models.

One of the most exciting additions is the ability to create a parallax image. You will be able to upload multiple layers of varying distances to create a parallax effect within your 2D or 3D image. This gives the illusion of 3D space and depth by creating a moving 'camera' position. We are currently working on an example to show you, and will have this ready for next week's blog.

We have a few more ideas up our sleeve, one being the inclusion of adding animation FX to images, with a variety of options available to you, so watch this space.

As you may have noticed from the above, each image 'style' has a small icon to make it instantly recognizable to anybody searching for e. g. parallax images. This icon will be displayed in the corner of the thumbnail. We hope to get you all looking out for the parallax icon!

As always, thanks for checking out the development update. We're in full swing here transferring information over from the older site to the newer one, and hope to be able to get beta testers in soon! Not long now!
